Our Review: We LOVE this product! The armband is easy to use and will teach you how to have good habits. You put in your age, weight and goals and the armband tracks all of your daily activity. It will tell you exactly how many calories you are burning at any given time of the day. If you’re shopping for groceries, that activity is shown. If you’re doing an extremely active workout like P90X, it shows just how your hard work is paying off. If you’re mopping the floor, it knows you’re expending more energy than just sitting on the couch and you’re getting credit for every little thing you do! You’ll learn how your daily activities use calories and how many steps you take. Who knew it was so hard to get to 10,000 steps a day? I expected that to be easier than it was! This armband has really helped to correct my couch potato ways!
In tandem with tracking your activity, you will enter your daily food intake into BodyMedia’s online food diary. It will track your calories and nutrition along with the calories burned to let you know if you are on a weight loss (or a weight gain) trend.
It’s well-known that sleep deprivation has an effect on healthy weight. Your armband also monitors
the quality of your sleep. During a recent bout of insomnia, I was shocked to see how accurate it was! It would show 5 minutes of sleep, 10 minutes awake, 3 minutes sleep, 8 minutes awake, 2 hours sleep, etc. This is well worth the cost that ranges from $199 to $250. The basic unit is $199. It costs another $49 for the display. I purchased both of these and while I love the armband, I really don’t use the display much. If you’re able to plug into your computer often enough, you really don’t have a need for it and will save the money. But the new armband with bluetooth technology to send your info to your smart phone would be really great to have!!
Let’s face facts. Keeping track matters! You need to know how many calories you really burn and how many you’re really taking in if you want to lose weight. Calories in, calories out is the best way to make it happen. I can’t recommend BodyMedia FIT enough! I honestly think that of all the diets I’ve tried, this may be the most logical and reasonable way to lose weight and learn to change my own habits!
