Easy Weight Loss Tips

1)  Hydrate!   The human body is 90% water.   Many times we mistake the initial signs of dehydration as hunger.   Drink at least eight 8-oz glasses of water per day.  (You should do this even when you aren’t on a diet.)   To make it even more productive, drink it cold!   Drinking cold water stimulates the metabolism.

2)  Eat Whole Grains!  Grains, especially whole grains, are an essential part of a healthy diet. All types of grains are good sources of complex carbohydrates and some key vitamins and minerals. Grains are also naturally low in fat. All of this makes grains a healthy option. Better yet, they’ve been linked to a lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers and other health problems.

3) Slow Down!  Take your time when you eat.  Chew your food thoroughly and savor the taste as long as you can.  If you slow down, you will recognize the signs that you are full.   Eating quickly is a hard habit to break, but it is an easy way to diet!  When you eat quickly, you don’t recognize it until you have already eaten too much.    One tactic that you may want to try is to put down your fork between each bite.

4) Exercise!!   Even if you don’t have a lot of time, five minutes of exercise is better than none.   It stimulates the metabolism if the body is active!  Watch the following video for a simple, non-preachy presentation of the facts about doing 1/2 hour a day of exercise…
